Beatrice Ethel Grimshaw (3 February 1870 - 30 June 1953) was an Irish journalist, travel writer and novelist, born at Cloona House near Dunmurry, County Antrim. She edited the Social Review and wrote for the Irish Cyclist before turning to travel writing for the Daily Graphic and The Times, work that took her to the Pacific in 1903. She spent much of the rest of her life in Papua and the islands of Melanesia.

Her fiction mixes imperial adventure, lost-world romance, occult knowledge and supernatural folklore, with Pacific settings that function as spaces of danger, mystery and hidden civilisations. The scale and variety of her imaginative geography make her an important figure in early twentieth-century Irish adventure and speculative writing, though her work also carries the racial and imperial assumptions of its period.
