Dave Rudden began his career as a storyteller in Dublin before moving into writing, with work published in journals such as Bare Hands, The Stinging Fly, and The Quotable. He won the Fantasy Book Review Short Story Prize in 2013 and was shortlisted for the Hennessy New Writing Award and the Bath Short Story Prize. A graduate of the UCD Creative Writing Masters, he developed the opening of what would become Knights of the Borrowed Dark, the first in a trilogy later published under the representation of Clare Wallace at the Darley Anderson Children’s Agency.

Since then, Rudden has released the remaining books in the Knights of the Borrowed Dark trilogy, written Doctor Who stories for the BBC, and expanded into plays, television, music videos, and RPGs. He teaches creative writing at UCD, serves as Artist in Residence at DCU, and has visited more than nine hundred schools and libraries worldwide to discuss writing, mental health, and monsters.
