Forrest Reid (24 June 1875 - 4 January 1947) was a Belfast-born novelist, literary critic and translator, and a writer of supernatural and fantastical fiction. He is associated with the Irish literary revival, although his work is typically inward, dreamlike and psychologically focused rather than folkloric. He was awarded the James Tait Black Memorial Prize in 1944 for Young Tom.

Reid's fiction repeatedly combines childhood memory, male adolescence, dream states, spiritual unease and ambiguous supernatural experience. His work matters both to the history of Irish supernatural literature and to queer-coded fantasy, and his ghost stories were collected posthumously in 1949.
