Ruth S Cunningham lives in Belfast, Co. Antrim, the city she was born and raised in, with her husband, two teenage boys, two dogs and a very grumpy tortoise. Describing herself as a horror 'obsessive', she consumes horror novels, podcasts, films and TV shows every chance she gets.

Her debut novel, The Devouring, is a supernatural thriller that follows a group of women gathering in a Belfast suburb for an evening of ghost stories. It is a reflection on years of horror consumption and a love of reading.
