Shane Hegarty is an author of children's science fiction, fantasy and horror from Skerries in Co. Dublin. Previously, Shane wrote 'Darkmouth' (HarperCollins), a four book series about a boy who has to fight legends of myth, but really doesn't want to do it. 'Darkmouth' was nominated for the Waterstones Prize and is being adapted for film by Alcon Entertainment (Blade Runner 2049, The Expanse).

His books have been translated into over 20 languages. His popular live events have included Edinburgh Book Festival, Hay On Wye Literary Festival, and the Marburger Lesefest in Germany.
